ROTARY KILN
(1) Kiln Shell
The kiln shell will be of an entirely welded construction.
It will be reasonably divided into sections for easy transportation and for site welding. Maximum one longitudinal welding for kiln section circumference is allowed.
The shell sections will be suitably braced and include equipment required for assembling them for site welding.
(2) Tires and Rollers
The kiln will be designed incorporating two or three support assemblies, the number of the support assemblies will be counted from the feed end. The kiln tires will be of solid construction and fixation to the kiln will as per
The maximum ovality of the kiln tires at any station will not exceed 0.2 %.
The face widths of the kiln support rollers will be min. 50 mm or as per manufac-turer's standard wider than the width of the tires. Lubrication by graphite blocks to be provided.
The bearings will incorporate temperature monitoring, and necessary connections for water cooling.
The roller support bedplates will incorporate water baths, piping, connections and foundation bolts.
(3) Thrust Rollers
The kiln thrust rollers will be designed to be operated by a hydraulic control system complete with all the necessary controlling equipment, oil unit and piping between the oil unit and thrust rollers.
The thrust rollers will be provided with guards and graphite blocks for face lubrication.
(4) Kiln Speed
The maximum kiln speed will be 4.0rpm.
(5) Drive (if girth gear drive)
A girth gear to drive the kiln will be mounted to the kiln shell by the mediation of spring plates.
The girth gear and pinion gear will be completely covered with a guard with an inspection port for viewing the meshing point of the drive.
The lubrication of the girth gear and pinion gear will be a forced grease flooding system or spray system.
The kiln will be driven through the main gearbox.
The kiln drive will be equipped with an auxiliary drive consisting of a Diesel engine and electric motor with gearbox with centrifugal clutch, brake, etc. for inching.
The kiln driving equipment will be designed to ease the adjustment work for alignment between the girth gear and pinion.
(6) Air Seals
Air seals of the latest up-dated design will be provided for the kiln at the feed and the outlet ends. At the outlet end, a cooling system will be provided for the protection of the end-ring casting.
(7) Others
The kiln will be complete with fixed firing hood on which large access doors, inspection windows etc. are mounted.
